Guided Reading
Guided Reading is small group reading instruction where students are placed in leveled groups to read a common text. The goal of guided reading is to differentiate teaching and focus on the common needs of a small group of students in order to accelerate their reading progress. Throughout the year, I will place students in guided groups during the literacy block where we will read text at students' instructional reading level. This is the level where students can read and understand the text, but need a bit of support when meaning or fluency breaks down.
